Yang embraces challenge as Trail Blazers lose to Grizzlies in Summer League

LAS VEGAS, United States, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Portland Trail Blazers rookie center Yang Hansen scored 10 points for the second consecutive game, but committed five turnovers in a 96-86 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in NBA summer league on Saturday.

The 7-foot-1 center from China had an impressive debut with 10 points, five assists, four rebounds and three blocks on Friday, helping the Blazers capture a 106-73 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Yang's performance made the Grizzlies play focused defense to limit him on the offensive end. He shot 4-of-8 from the field and 0-of-2 from beyond the arc, scoring 10 points with five rebounds and three assists.

"They gave me some physical contact on defence, caused me a lot of problems, but I think it's a good lesson to help me realize my shortcomings," Yang said.

The 20-year-old rookie had an aggressive play in the first half by dunking against Lawson Lovering.

The Blazers will play the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
