Brooklyn Nets star forward Kevin Durant is probable to return to the lineup Wednesday to face the visiting New Orleans Pelicans, according to the team's Tuesday injury report.
Durant missed the past 23 games with a left hamstring injury and hasn't played since Feb. 13. He also missed the team's three games just prior to that lone appearance.
The return of the Brooklyn star is quite timely, considering fellow star point guard James Harden is expected to miss at least 10 days, also with a hamstring issue sustained Monday.
Durant is averaging 29 points per game to go along with 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists in just 19 games during his first season as an active player for Brooklyn. He missed all of the 2019-20 season due to a ruptured right Achilles tendon.
The trio of Kyrie Irving, Harden and Durant has only played seven games together, yet the Nets still held the top spot in the Eastern Conference through Monday with a 35-16 record.
